Follow a
day in the life of Leopold Bloom and his fellow Dubliners -
the protagonists of James Joyce's literary masterpiece Ulysses
- with a celebration of readings, performances, music, food
and drink as Bloomsday Buffalo celebrates its
12th year. This year's Bloomsday
Buffalo celebration promises to be the largest in the history
of the event in Western New York.

On
Friday, June 12th Cinegael Film Festival at the Albright
Knox Art Gallery on Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo at
4:30pm
On Monday June 15th,
from 7:00pm
to 9:00pm, the
Bloomsday Buffalo tradition continues with The
Cyclops Session based on Chapter 12 of
Ulysses set in Barney Kiernan’s Pub at
Ulrich’s Restaurant, 674 Ellicott
Street,
Buffalo, which will assume
the name of Barney Kiernan’s for the day.
On
Tuesday, June 16 -THE GREAT DAY!
The main Bloomsday
event will take place on Tuesday June 16th at the
Smith Theatre , Main Street in Downtown Buffalo
(5:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
The festivities will spill out onto
Main
Street as the readings, performance
and music of the era continue inside the theatre. Take part in The Bonnie Bonnet
Derby (Best Hat Competition) and the Bloomin’
Sweepstakes (a raffle with various prizes).
